Token of Safety: In Episode 2, it was revealed that when a new pair is formed, they are safe from being thrown into elimination by the pair that wins the daily challenge.Battle of the Bloodlines: In Episode 1, at the Pit it was revealed that the battle would actually be with the players' bloodlines rather than against the other bloodlines.The two winners would remain in the game and form a new pairing, still in the running for the champion title. However, a twist revealed at the first elimination would reveal that a bloodline voted into elimination would actually have to compete against one another rather than the opposing pair.

The winning pair would then choose a pair that has not yet been into elimination to compete against the houses' nominees. After the challenge, a house vote would occur to see which pair would be headed into the Pit. The pairs will compete in numerous challenges, with the winning pair of the challenge earning safety and power. This season would begin with twelve pairs of players competing beside their closest bloodline. With the money on the line and family honor to defend, there will be blood. It’s anyone’s game when family still means everything, because despite strong performances, competitors could still go home if their relatives fall short. This shake-up gets even more twisted when players learn that their fates are combined with their bloodlines’. In this unprecedented format, competitors will battle it out WITH and AGAINST their bloodlines, turning family into foe. The Challenge: Battle of the Bloodlines brings twelve pairs of players to Bodrum, Turkey to join their own flesh and blood in a competition to become the next Challenge Champions. Filming took place on December 20th, 2019. Battle of the Bloodlines is the fourth season of The Challenge.
